CHAPTER 3 /// GATHERING IN THE GOLDEN HOUR

“Thanks for the ride,” said Reesle as he tossed a large, golden Arcadium coin to the coachman. “Here’s the pay.” “Safe travels, kind sir.” Reesle carried a huge golden box out of the carriage just as he hopped out of it, stepping foot into Aurifere Village. The coachman started gently whipping the two horses in front of him, prompting them to gallop away, leaving Reesle behind. “Hope I’m not late for the event,” said Reesle, thinking loudly to himself. “Would be a shame if everyone got full before they even got to taste this cake.” This isn’t Reesle’s first time in Aurifere Village. He had to navigate the village’s dirt paths first before heading to Concorde City. Along the way were the typical stony cottages with wooden roofs, which are a very common sight in the district’s countryside.  The village is situated in the middle of a huge, golden plain covered by wheat crops.
